As most villagers will know, the Parish Council produce a “Welcome to Peopleton” leaflet which we try to distribute to all new residents. This leaflet now needs revising. We should be most grateful to receive amendments and corrections to the current leaflet as well as suggestions for information which should be included (and any which is unnecessary). There is a copy of the leaflet in the shop and Tim Mason has spare copies if you want one. You can also download a copy below. Please send ideas for the leaflet to tim.mason256@gmail.com.

Welcome to Peopleton_2e

Speed Limit on A44

Our thanks to all those who signed the petition; there were over 300 signatures from Peopleton and over 200 from Drakes Broughton.

We have now received a response. Unfortunately, the County Council will not reduce the speed limit. They consider that it is too small a stretch of road and that the road markings, small islands and signs are sufficient.

Become a Parish Councillor for Peopleton

Elections for 9 councillors to the Parish Council were held at the beginning of May. As only 7 councillors were elected, there are still two vacancies. If any parishioners would like to be co-opted onto the council, please contact Tim Mason or Jill Phillips. We would like to have the full quota of councillors as it is important that council is fully representative of the village.

The council meet on the second Wednesday evening of every other month with occasional extra meetings if required. The main purpose of the council is to represent the village, provide and deliver appropriate services, and improve the quality of life for the residents of the village. In particular, the council works closely with the District and County Councillors and Wychavon District Council, in considering planning applications and other matters relevant to the village.

For further information, please talk to the Chair of Peopleton Parish Council, Jill Phillips, or any of the existing councillors, whose details can be found on the noticeboard outside the shop.
