Peopleton Pantry is made up of three entities:
• The shop itself
• The Post Office
• The Tea Room
The shop is a proud supporter of the “Making Local Food Work” programme. Part of the programme is the “Look for Local Food” project which aims to help community-run and traditional independent shops to stock and sell more locally produced food, thereby also creating valuable retail outlets for small-scale producers. This means that a lot of the staple foods we stock are sourced from within 30 miles or from within the county.
Fresh fruit and vegetables are delivered on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Here’s just a sample of what we stock from local sources:
Milk from Worcestershire and Gloucestershire
Bread from Tewkesbury
Eggs from Dormston
Meat, sausages, bacon and chicken from Ragley (fresh on Wednesdays)
Vegetables from the Pershore area (subject to availability)
Cordials from Gloucestershire
Soft drinks from Little Comberton
Pickles from Egdon
Jams and preserves from Crowle
Honey from Bishampton
Cakes from Rous Lench
Greetings Cards from Peopleton, Evesham and Beckford
Pies from Jumbo’s Cuts
As well as local food, the shop stocks everyday food and drink brands, newspapers, stationery, a range of household goods and gifts. There is also an ordering service for cakes, bread and meat.
The Pantry is an agent for dry cleaning. In addition to clothes, you can get your curtains, duvets etc. cleaned. A shoe repair service is also available.
