If you have a classic car, love Peopleton, and are free on Saturday 31st August, then that is the perfect combination for you to enter your car at this years Peopleton Autumn Show. The event will be held in the usual place, on the village hall playing fields at the northern edge of the village. Click on the link below to download further details and your entry form.
We are pleased to confirm that the post office in Peopleton will continue to operate for the foreseeable future.
The management committee are actively seeking a suitable replacement for Steve Dexter.
Anyone interested in this position or who knows someone who might be interested is asked to contact either Tim Mason (firstname.lastname@example.org) or John Coupland (email@example.com).
The Management Committee of Peopleton Village Shop are sorry to announce that Steve Dexter will be leaving the shop at the end of November. Steve has had nine successful years as manager but now wishes to pursue other work opportunities. The committee are most grateful to Steve for all that he has done to establish the shop as an important part of our community and wish him every success in the future.
The committee will be actively seeking a replacement for Steve over the next few weeks so that the shop can continue to operate successfully and to serve the needs of the village.
As most villagers will know, the Parish Council produce a “Welcome to Peopleton” leaflet which we try to distribute to all new residents. This leaflet now needs revising. We should be most grateful to receive amendments and corrections to the current leaflet as well as suggestions for information which should be included (and any which is unnecessary). There is a copy of the leaflet in the shop and Tim Mason has spare copies if you want one. You can also download a copy below. Please send ideas for the leaflet to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our thanks to all those who signed the petition; there were over 300 signatures from Peopleton and over 200 from Drakes Broughton.
We have now received a response. Unfortunately, the County Council will not reduce the speed limit. They consider that it is too small a stretch of road and that the road markings, small islands and signs are sufficient.
