Help to manage the shop
The Management Committee for The Pantry at Peopleton is looking for new members to help ensure the continued success of the Village Shop. Anyone with recent experience of retailing, marketing or business management would be particularly welcome, but any volunteer willing to spend some time helping the shop would also be very welcome.
The Management Committee are all volunteers who support the shop manager/post master, Steve Dexter, who is responsible for the day-to-day running of the shop. The purpose of the committee is to monitor the operation of the shop and decide on the long-term strategy.
The committee meet for about 2 hours, 4 or 5 times a year, usually in the evening. If you are interested in joining the committee, please speak to Steve Dexter in the shop, or John Coupland, the chairman.
Become a Parish Councillor for Peopleton
Elections for 9 councillors to the Parish Council will be held at the beginning of May. The current councillors would like to encourage parishioners to consider standing for the council; it is important that council is fully representative of the village.
The council meet on the second Wednesday evening of every other month with occasional extra meetings if required. The main purpose of the council is to represent the village, provide and deliver appropriate services, and improve the quality of life for the residents of the village. In particular, the council works closely with the District and County Councillors and Wychavon District Council, in considering planning applications and other matters relevant to the village.
For further information, please talk to the Chair of Peopleton Parish Council, Jill Phillips, or any of the existing councillors, whose details can be found on the noticeboard outside the shop.
